Hyperbaric chamber
What is a Hyperbaric Chamber?
A hyperbaric chamber is a medical device designed to deliver oxygen to patients at higher atmospheric pressures than normal sea level conditions. These chambers are used in a medical treatment known as hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
In a hyperbaric chamber, the patient is placed in a sealed space where the ambient pressure can be increased, typically by introducing pure oxygen. This allows the body to absorb more oxygen than it would normally get at sea level, which can have several therapeutic benefits.

Benefits of the Hyperbaric Chamber
Improves circulation
Optimizes the supply of oxygen to tissues and promotes the generation of new blood vessels.
Prevents infections
Concentrated oxygen inhibits the growth of bacteria and strengthens the immune system.
Reduces inflammation
Decreases inflammation by enhancing the activity of immune cells and neutralizing free radicals.
Boosts energy
Reduces physical and mental fatigue, enhances concentration, and reduces stress.
Promotes quick healing
By increasing oxygen supply, it stimulates collagen production and cell proliferation in wounds.
And more benefits
Reverses cellular hypoxia, enhances the effectiveness of certain antibiotics, stimulates collagen formation, etc.
What does a hyperbaric chamber look like?
There are various types of hyperbaric chambers, typically cylindrical or capsule-shaped. Some are single-person chambers pressurized with oxygen, while multi-person chambers use air, and patients breathe oxygen through a special mask or helmet.
These chambers must be capable of withstanding a minimum pressure of 1.5 ATA (absolute atmospheres) and can be constructed from materials such as steel, aluminum, or concrete, including a special acrylic transparent section. The pressure inside the chamber is equivalent to what a diver experiences at depths of 5 to 20 meters.
For a treatment to be considered hyperbaric therapy or oxygen therapy, the patient must be completely inside the chamber and breathe 100% medical oxygen for a specific period of time. Simply increasing the pressure without the presence of oxygen does not meet the requirements to be considered a treatment in a hyperbaric chamber.
Our Treatment
We will provide consultations for oxygen therapy treatment and sessions for the same. The number of sessions is determined based on individual needs, and each session can last from 45 to 60 minutes.
How long do the sessions and treatments last?
Each treatment session lasts approximately 45 to 60 minutes. The number of sessions varies depending on the condition and how the individual responds to the treatment. It typically starts with 10 to 15 sessions according to international protocols.
What is the hyperbaric chamber used for?
Oxygen is transported throughout our body via the bloodstream. When we use a hyperbaric chamber, we enable oxygen not only to be transported through the blood but also through the plasma. This means that oxygen can reach each of our cells, without relying solely on the quality and quantity of blood flow. Lack of oxygen in certain organs and surrounding areas can lead to hypoxia.
Therefore, we can assert that diseases affecting our body can be reduced or eliminated thanks to the increased oxygen supply and the elimination of hypoxia. This process benefits our organs and systems as a whole.
What is it like to experience a session in a hyperbaric chamber?
The first time you enter a hyperbaric chamber, it’s natural to feel some unease due to fear of the unknown and possibly the prospect of experiencing claustrophobia.
However, this fear typically dissipates quickly as you observe and hear the testimonials of other patients.
As the pressure increases, you may feel a sensation of ear blockage, but it’s important to equalize your ears to avoid discomfort. If this happens, don’t hesitate to immediately inform the chamber operator, who can listen to you and provide instructions or stop the process if necessary. Once the correct pressure is reached, the environment remains stable, and the sensation of ear blockage disappears.
When it’s time to depressurize the chamber (release the air), you may feel some ear pressure changes, and the same protocol as at the beginning will be followed to ensure your comfort.
